Studio Policies: Island Pilates is committed to creating a healthy and inviting studio. To do this we are asking the following... * A 24-hour notice is required for class cancellation. If we do not receive a 24-hour notice you will be charged in full. (We do make exceptions for emergency, or illness related absences). * All Sessions are 55 minutes in length. * All packages expire 1 year from date of purchase. * Private, Duet, and Group Sessions are by appointment only. * Arrive on time or come slightly early to class. Out of respect for other class participants and for your safety, we can not admit clients to class more than 15 minutes after the start of class. * Please silence your cell phones. * Please do not wear strong perfumes or heavy oils and creams in the studio. * Please do not wear sharp objects in your hair such as barrettes and clips. * Please notify your instructor if you have had any injuries, car accidents, or new health concerns since your last session.
How long does it take to see results from Pilates?
This will vary depending on the individual and a number of hours you practise each week. A physically average active person doing 2-3 hours per week should see some results within 10-12 classes.
How many times a week should you do Pilates?
First, if you have never done Pilates, and you sign up for a class this week, that's 100% more than you were doing last week, and that's awesome. In my experience, once a week can help supplement your other physical activities. Pilates2-3 times a week is enough to start seeing noticeable changes.
Can you do Pilates reformer everyday?
So, the answer to our "daily Pilates?" question is YES, you can do Pilates safely and effectively every day. The key is to vary the workouts, keep them targeted, and if a particular muscle group is challenged one day, give it just a moderate workout the next.
